Welcome Back to School
2021-2022
While no one is sure just what this school year will look like, it is safe to say that at USD 223 we will make the very best of each and every opportunity we have with our students to teach, develop, and foster growth that will make their parents proud. We are excited to see you!
COVID has proven to be a challenging adversary. With the new Delta variant of the virus we have seen an increase in the positive number of cases nationally. Listed below are the USD 223 current plans based on guidance from Washington County Health Department, KSHSAA, and KSDE.
At this time USD 223 does not plan to require masks for anyone. If anyone would like to wear a mask then please do so.
Vaccines are available at both schools during enrollment. The first round of vaccinations will be available for staff and students age 12 and up (with this signed permission slip https://5il.co/wf2c ) at Linn from 3PM to 7PM on 8/4 and in Hanover from 12PM to 4PM on 8/5. At this time, vaccinated individuals who are in close contact with a positive COVID case will not have to quarantine unless they begin showing symptoms.
Students will social distance (3 feet) when possible
Students will bring their own water bottles to refill and use throughout the day.
Hand sanitizer will be available for students to use
Cleaning and sanitizing of high touch surfaces
Students are encouraged to stay home when sick
We are hopeful that we will remain COVID free for the entire 21-22 school year but we are preparing for the possibility that we may have to adjust to some COVID effects. Either way, USD 223 will do all we can to keep your children safe, learning, and enjoying school so that they can have their best year ever!
Sincerely,
Lee Schmidt
