Monday, December 14th
Please, exercise caution when walking between school buildings. The sidewalks are icy. We are temporarily out of salt to de-ice but hope to have some soon. Also, be sure to wear warm clothing to and from school (and when walking between buildings). Hopefully, no one will be involved in any accidents, but it is better to be safe than sorry. And, for those riding buses: Please, be respectful of the bus driver's need to be attentive to road conditions at all times. Do not distract the drivers. (thank you!)
FBLA officer lunch meeting
This is the last full week of school prior to Winter Break. Students are reminded to
1. Put in the last bit of extra effort on all of your classes.
2. Be ready for final/semester exams or project assignments which will be given in the last day or two of each of your classes.
3. Turn in all Volunteer Service Hours earned this semester by Dec. 18th to Mrs. Hynek.
4. Touch base with your coaches and make sure you know when practices will be during break.
5. Get your HHS State Football Champ shirts ordered so you have some special gifts under the Christmas tree!
Winter Ball is Saturday, December 19th, from 7:30 - 11:00. Coronation will be at 7:30 in the cafeteria and the dancing will begin at 8:00. The theme is "Candyland." Breakfast will be available for students after clean up from the dance at Todd and Debbie Jueneman's.
BOE meeting in Barnes at the Central Office begins at 7:00.
Heads up! We have rescheduled winter athletic pictures for this Friday, Dec. 18th at 2:00. Be sure to have the appropriate clothing apparel here. We will follow the same schedule we had set up for last week. Dismissal of female high school basketball players will begin after roll is taken in 7th hour classes. Dismissal of male high school basketball players will be at 2:15. Junior high pictures will begin around 2:50. All students are to report back to class after having their pictures taken.
Please bring any coats you would like to contribute to the STUCO's Christmas Coat Drive. There should be a box/table for them outside the office and at St. John's where you can put your donations. See Austin Steinfort or Jerod Diederich for more information.

HS Cheerleaders will meet on Wednesday. The time will depend on when girls have BB practice. Meet before practice if BB practice is late; meet after BB practice if it is early.

STUCO lunch meeting in the high school library
HS Cheerleaders will meet today. The time will depend on when girls have BB practice. Meet before practice if BB practice is late; meet after BB practice if it is early.
FCCLA members: Concession bills need to be paid by Friday.
Congratulations to the Winter Ball candidates who are Ryan Diederich, Connor Hynek, Rory Nieman, and Austin Steinfort, Christy Bruna, Kim Doebele, Jenna Kruse and Ashley Rengstorf.

Friday, Dec. 18
In anticipation of a lovely Winter Ball tomorrow evening, students are simply reminded that outstanding behavior on their part, in line with the expectations of the handbook policy, is expected. This applies to outside dates as well. Also, remember that once one enters the cafeteria/gym, the individual is expected to remain for the duration. Students will not be allowed to come and go.
Congratulations to the Winter Ball candidates: for Queen:--- Christy Bruna, Kim Doebele, Jenna Kruse and Ashley Rengstorf. for King ---Ryan Diederich, Connor Hynek, Rory Nieman, and Austin Steinfort. Coronation of the King and Queen will be at 7:30 in the cafeteria.
There will be a junior class meeting today during lunch in the high school library.
Winter Ball committees will be setting up for the event beginning Saturday morning.
Don't forget that Winter Sports pictures will be taken today. Pictures will be taken in the following order: Highschool girls basketball players. (Dismiss these ladies immediately after roll is taken in 7th hour classes.) High school boys basketball players. (Dismiss at 2:15.) Junior high pictures will begin by 2:40. Girls first and then boys. Please dismiss these students at 2:30 and 2:45, respectively. Once dismissed, students should immediately go to the locker rooms to change into uniforms and then report to the gym area. All students are to report back to class after having their pictures taken. (Cheerleaders may have pictures retakes and should work into the sequence as able.)
The semester ends for students on Tuesday, Dec. 22nd at noon. Both breakfast and lunch will be served in our cafeteria for those who sign up for the meal(s).
