Monday, Dec. 7
Lunch menu today has changed due to a freezer issue in the cafeteria. Lunch will include a burrito, mixed vegetables, Spanish rice and a half apple. Tomorrow's main entre will be hamburgers. There will be no a la carte items available this week.
Juniors - The concession stand schedule is posted outside the office. Please check it so you know when you are to work. Contact the sponsors if you have concerns.
There is a JV Scholars Bowl today at Centralia. Students will depart @ 2:00. Please excuse competitors after taking role 7th hour.
FCCLA Board Lunch Meeting today.
Winter Music Concert is this evening and begins at 7:00 p.m. Students will practice today following the noted schedule:
10:30-11:00 5&6th grade girls and 7-12 Choirs
11:00-11:40 HS Band
12:30-2:00 K-4
2:15-3:00 5&6th grade band
3:00-3:30 HS band
Don't forget that winter sports pictures (basketball) will be taken tomorrow, beginning at 2:10. Student athletes should be sure to have all necessary uniform clothing on hand. Dismissal of female high school basketball players will begin after roll is taken in 7th hour classes. Dismissal of male high school basketball players will be at 2:15. Junior high pictures will begin around 2:50. All students are to report back to class after having their pictures taken.
Students participating in the Volunteer Service Program: Remember your volunteer hours for this semester need to be submitted by December 22nd in order to be counted. Turn your forms in to Mrs. Hynek. Remember that volunteer hours must be earned during non-school hours.
State Championship sweatshirts and T-shirts are now available for purchase. Order forms are available in the office and also at some local businesses. Get your order in now so part of your Christmas shopping will be done!
FBLA Members - Your $5 for the Christmas Community Service Project is due TODAY!
Seniors _ You are running out of time to get your video pictures to Multimedia. If you have not turned these in, get them here this week.
Tuesday, Dec. 8
Today around 2:00, winter sports pictures will be taken in the gym. Varsity basketball pictures will be taken first with junior high pictures following. Plan on the following approximate schedule: Varsity girls - 2:10; JV girls - 2:20; Varsity boys - 2:30; JV boys - 2:40; Jr High Girls - 2:50; Jr High Boys - 3:00. (Teachers: please dismiss the girls who play basketball at after taking roll 7th hour. Dismiss the guys around 2:15. All students should report back to classes upon completion of their pictures.) Students should be sure to have their uniforms available.
NHS lunch meeting today.
There are only two weeks left in this semester. Be sure your grades are what you want them to be. Put forth the necessary effort to close the semester on an academic high for yourself!

Friday, Dec. 11th
Students only have a half day of school today. Dismissal is at 12:30 p.m. Teachers will have in-service time from 12:30-3:45.\
A cell phone was found after the Hanover-Nemaha Valley basketball game last week and has not yet been claimed. If you are missing a phone, you need to talk to Barb in the office and describe the phone. in order to claim it.
All juniors who are taking the ACT exam tomorrow, please report to the high school library during your lunch so that Mrs. Hoover can share information about the test with you.
HS basketball is at Bern tonight. Buses will leave at 3:00 so basketball players and managers should be released from classes at 2:50.
There will be no basketball practice for junior high girls tonight. Next week, the junior high girls will have late practices each night in the St. John's gym.
HS basketball on Saturday (Home) vs. Sterling City. First game (JV Girls) will begin at 3:00 p.m..
Don't forget that the Winter Ball is next Saturday, Dec. 19th. Coronation will occur in the cafeteria at 7:30 p.m. The dance will convene at 8:00 and run through 11:00 p.m. There will be a breakfast for students at the home of Todd and Debbie Jueneman following clean up from the dance.
