Thursday, Nov. 12

Super job FFA members and 7th grade students who helped with the Pancake Breakfast yesterday!  Thank you, Mrs. Hagedorn and Mr. Howell, for all you did to make this event a terrific success!

Tuesday, Nov. 11

High school girls basketball shoes are in. Money is payable to Becky Doebele, $79.99.

Tuesday, Nov. 10

Don't forget that tonight is the Fall Athletic Banquet.  Track participants from the spring will also be included.  Seniors are to bring the meat items.  Juniors bring vegetable dishes, sophomores bring salads and freshmen bring desserts.

A Navy recruiter will be here today to visit with students.  He will be set up on the stage during lunch.

FFA members and 7th grade students will serve folks a pancake breakfast tomorrow morning between 6:30 and 8:00 in the Ag Shop.  This is in honor of our local Veterans and the  many patrons and community supporters of our schools.  It is hoped that there will be a good crowd.  Be sure to ask the students about the FFA program and the 7th graders about their "Hoot" activities.

The Fort Hays State University representative will be in the high school library during lunch on Thursday.

7-12 choir will practice at 7:30 am on Thursday. See Mrs. Schoenrock if you can't attend the rehearsal.

In case you would like to see the State football brackets for 8 Man-Division II, go to

http://www.kshsaa.org/FOOTBALL/fb8M2.html .  The game Friday night will be played at St. John Catholic High School's football field.  (Head west on  HWY 36.  Just before Mankato take a left onto Hwy 14 going south.  Continue on Hwy 14 about 26 miles.  You will go through Jewell.   Once you get to Beloit, take left on Hwy 24 east  and travel about 2-3 miles. Take a right on East Main St. until you come to St. John's.  Take a left on Cherry St. - heading south.  You'll see the stadium on the left or to the east.)   You may also want to do a Mapquest if you want a more detailed map or another, shorter route through Concordia.

For those students and HHS fans who would like to purchase a 2008-9 Year of Dominance sweatshirt or T-shirt prior to the Sub-State football game, contact Carol Turner by 10 a.m. this Thursday, Nov. 12th.

There will be a football dinner for the football players, coaches and parents at Tony & Jeanne Bruna's Thursday night at 6:30 p.m.  Each football player is to bring a BAKED pizza.  Senior parents are also to bring a dessert to share.

Football players will depart at 3:00 p.m. on Friday for Beloit.  We will have a PEP RALLY send off for the players beginning at 2:45 led by our cheerleaders in the gym.  A special thanks, in advance, to the Booster Club for providing food for the players to eat on the bus!  (Non-football students are expected to return to 8th hour after the pep rally.)

Don't forget the Hanover Public Schools has a late start this Friday, Nov. 13th.  School will begin at 10:00 for K-12 students.  Judge accordingly for bus pick-up:  about two hours later than normal.

Monday, Nov. 9

CONGRATULATIONS to the football team and coaches for their 48-0 win over Lost Springs-Centre on Saturday.  Now, on to Sub-State playoffs on Friday, Nov. 13th @ 7:00 when HHS will play Beloit-St. John's (there).  Go get'em, Cats!

This is "BUFFER WEEK"  - No high school basketball practices (winter sport practices) are allowed to begin until Nov. 16th.

BOE meeting at 7:00 p.m. in Barnes.  Congratulations to Sharon Nicholson who is recognized for 10 years of service to Hanover and USD 223!

High school cheerleaders will meet Tuesday after school in Mrs. Walling's room.

Students:  You should not be in the halls prior to the first bell of the day unless you have a pass or are meeting a teacher due to a prearrangement.  Likewise, at lunch time.  The gym area is where you should be until the dismissal bell rings.  Thank you for your cooperation!
