The Principal's Corner
"Be the change you wish to see in the world."
Hello Bulldogs!! Welcome back!! I hope everyone who was able to took part in a great Spring Break. The time off is always nice, and it gives both the body and mind time to rejuvenate. As the break wore down I began to get a bit antsy, as I always do, to get back in, however it is still hard to rise as early as needed on that first Monday. I hope everyone had the opportunity to get themselves ready for the end of the year excitement.
Excitement is definitely something that would describe what is coming to Linn in the coming weeks. In the coming week we have a host of things going on. The first is right off the bat on the 28th when we will be sending FFA students to the Cloud County Community College Aggie Days. This should be a fun event for all involved, and I look forward to seeing what the students are able to bring back.
The next major event is the TVL Art Show on Wednesday. I have been speaking quite a bit with Mr. Hildebrand in preparation for this day, and he is very confident in the Bulldogs this year. He told me he has a few secrets up his sleeve, and he thinks they have a good chance at a ton of success. Mr. Hildebrand, through the help of a few students, has also set up an Instagram page where you will be able to keep up with the students are doing. He is excited to show off more of what the kids are doing to an even larger audience. You can follow him @mrhildebrand_k12 and see their work.
Our students are also preparing for state FBLA. The students in this competition will be gone both Thursday and Friday, and will be showing their skills off to the entire state of Kansas. Mr. Spiehs has the kids very excited about what is about to happen, and I am pumped to see them represent Linn!
We will also be having some big things coming in the next few weeks. One of these is Kindergarten round up. Many have already received letters about this. We will be having our roundup on April 3 and I can’t wait to see the next generation of Bulldogs get ready to get started. This night will be a great night for those who are about to start school as we will be going over a ton of important information.
Our other event is our “Linn Schools Day of Giving”. On April 21 Linn Public will be going out to the communities of Linn, Palmer, Greenleaf, and Barnes to do community service. This is our way of saying thank you to the communities that have helped to support us throughout the year. This event is something I am very excited for and very passionate about. I feel it is so important to be grateful for whatever you have, and saying thank you is truly something that we must do when we are helped. However, I think that words can fall short of really getting to the meaning of saying thank you, so we will be going out to show the communities that help us that we are truly thankful. If you have some work that you would like help with or done on April 21 please go to the USD 223 website and under the daily note you will see a link that you can put in your browser. This link will take you to a form you can fill out to have work performed. There will also be paper copies of the form at Palmer Bank and the District office in Barnes, and the public school in Linn. Again, I want to say thank you to the communities for all of the help they have given the school.
It’s a great day to be a Bulldog!
