The basketball season enters its second half and our Bulldogs hosted two home games this past week. The Valley Heights Mustangs came to town on Tuesday night after posting some key victories in the TVL Tournament. The Mustangs defeated the Bulldogs in both girls’ and boys’ varsity action. The Lady Bulldogs got things turned around on Friday night when they jumped out to an early lead against the Onaga Buffalo and cruised to an easy victory. The boys were in the game until the final minute but eventually fell to the visiting Buffalo squad. This week – weather permitting – we are on the road and then some. Tuesday night we travel to Wetmore and on Friday night we travel to Doniphan West. The Bulldogs have only two more home games on the schedule so make plans now to visit us on February 12th or February 16th to see the Dogs in action!
Our high school cheer squad will be hosting their annual Bitty Cheer Day on Saturday, February 6th in the new gym. These young people will then put on a cheering routine for parents and guests on the night we host Troy which is February 12th. Come on out and cheer on the next generation of cheerleaders at Linn Schools!
Mrs. Herrs and our third grade students presented their projects on inventors throughout time on Thursday in the old gym. Each student researched a particular inventor and then put together a display and a small oral presentation about their selection. They then invited the elementary students, parents and other guests for their presentations. As you approached their table you could press a red button and, in character, they would read about the inventor and their contributions to the world. Not only did they present in character, each student was also dressed in appropriate attire for their time period. The students covered a wide spectrum of people that included Steve Jobs, Madam Currie, George Washington Carver and the Wright Brothers. You could also learn information about the creator of the Toll House Cookie, the Barbie Doll, and the windshield wiper. It was a fun and interesting activity and one that I am sure the third graders will remember for a lifetime! Great job everyone!
We will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive in the new gym on February 11th. We invite you to attend and contribute to this very worthy cause.
It is great to be a Bulldog!
